Yikes! It’s National Rum Day! I was shutting down my computer for the evening and off to bed when the internet caught my eye and informed me it was National Rum Day so of course, I had to make a rum drink in honor of the day!
It was…..ok. I just had regular rum instead of Kirk and Sweeney 12 year rum so maybe that’s why it tasted off. Haha. Or maybe I’m just not a big Rum drinker. Either way, here is the recipe.
- 2 parts Kirk and Sweeney 12 Year rum
- .75 part fresh lime juice
- .5 part maple syrup
- 1 part ginger beer
- 1 dash bitters
- Garnish: Orange peel
- Step 1 Add all ingredients in a shaker except ginger beer, add ice and shake well until chilled
- Step 2 Strain over fresh ice in a double rocks glass, top with ginger beer and garnish with orange peel
