So I always thought a Dirty Martini had olive brine in it, but apparently not. Quite a few recipes said the brine gave the Martini a bitter taste and used lemon peel oil instead? Here is the way I made it:
Dirty Martini

Ingredients
- 1/2 oz Dry Vermouth
- 3 ounces Gin
- olives
- lemon peel
Directions
- Step 1 Pour all ingredients into shaker over ice
- Step 2 Stir well
- Step 3 Strain in chilled martini cocktail glass
- Step 4 Squeeze lemon oil from the lemon peel into glass
- Step 5 Garnish with olives or lemon peel or both
- Step 6 Serve straight up or on the rocks
The only martini’s I like are pomegranate ones so I was surprised that this actually tasted pretty good. Also, I chose to garnish mine with both olives and the lemon peel.
